When exposed to excessive heat and pressure, carbon atoms rearrange creating a crystal structure known as a diamond lattice. How Synthetic Diamonds Are Made
Synthetic diamonds have the same look and sparkle of real diamonds, but are created in a lab rather than the earth. There are two main methods used in labs to create diamonds, including chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and high pressure high temperature (HPHT). For premium, wearable diamonds in jewelry, CVD is the preferred choice. In as little as 28 days, the lab-created diamonds are ready to be cut and set in jewelry. The technology to create larger manmade diamonds is a recent discovery.
Both real diamonds and manmade options are beautiful, but some buyers may prefer one over the other. If you want the real thing, you can’t go wrong with a traditional, real diamond.
